choose a Fishing Charter Trip for a few hours ... or a few days

You can book a fishing trip to fit your own schedule.

Some inshore charters may take you out for 3 – 4 hours, but there are some offshore trips available for longer trips that will keep you on the water overnight or for a couple of days, if that’s what you want.

Most charter companies ask that you book your trip at least two weeks in advance.  Be sure to ask about refund policies when you book the trip.  Some companies make special allowances for weather-related cancellations.

What To bring on your Fishing Charter trip

There are certain items you will want to bring with you to make sure you have a wonderful time on your fishing trip.

Some charters will provide soft drinks, and some will allow you to bring beer on board.  You will need to ask about their rules when you schedule your trip.

To make your excursion more enjoyable, be sure to bring:

  • Camera
  • Snacks and drinks
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • A light jacket
  • A cooler to bring your catch home
  • Comfortable shoes with non-skid soles
  • Anti-nausea medication

There will be a restroom on the boat.  If you need special handicap access, be sure to ask about facilities when you contact the charter provider.

And remember … it is customary to tip your captain or crew.  Standard tips are 15% – 20%.

Keeping Your Catch

If you plan to keep the fish you catch, make sure you bring your cooler.

You can even take your cleaned fish to some of the local restaurants and have it prepared for the freshest dinner in town!
